I twisted my knee in soccer practice and its swollen, tingling and a little numb. Should I just use a knee wrap and ice or see a doctor?

Doctor:

"See a doctor, structural specialist. Knee inflammation is due to structural disregulation. This might mean that the hip is out. The whole body needs to be checked. The knee may need to be adjusted. Ice it for now to reduce the swelling. But you may have a more serious condition that may require an MRI to be looked at by an orthopedic surgeon. Once I see the MRI I may be able to treat a knee trauma without surgery... If nothing is torn then we could move right into adjusting the bones and ligaments that may have been rotated out of place and just needs some OMT Naprapathy or red light therapy"

Reply
: Thank you Dr. Barnes. The MRI did reveal the tendons were not torn and Dr. Barnes was right about the knee in relation to the deviation of my spine and hip. All better now!

Is there anything I haven't tried yet for fibromyalgia pain?

Doctor:

" Have you tried naprapathy, manual therapy? Sometimes red light therapy is effective. There are many different ways to deal with fibromyalgia besides drugs. Seek out a pain management doctor in your area for a comprehensive evaluation. There are many causes for the diagnosis for fibromyalgia pain."

A couple of weeks ago I began taking 50 mg of iodoral iodine a day. A regular checkup a few days ago revealed low density lipoprotein LDL at 237 with cholesterol over 285. Are these high numbers caused by fat breaking down in less time?

Doctor:

" No, Iodine Iodide will detoxify halides binded with your iodine receptors. Iodine Iodide also increases metabolizism by facilitating thyroiodoperoxidase vital to healthy metabolic function. Iodine Iodide also causes regulation of the thyroid by by binding with Thyroxsine and facilitating T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6 and T7. All of these biochemical interaction due affect Pyruvic acid phase in the liver, but not only indirectly. So the answer is complexed. There is other hormonal communication that is facilitated by other biochemical pathways. Please make an appointment and I will review your labs."

Hi Doctor Barnes. I have fibromyalgia and wanted to know what you might suggest I could do to feel better.

Doctor:

" Fibromyalgia is not very well understood by Physicians and is diagnosed by symptoms. There are numerous causes for the symptoms of fibromyalgia. The leading cause I have observed is dehydration and demineralization. I recomend that my patient drink half their body weight in ounces of water, use trace minerals and magnesium with a good Multi Vitamin. I also stress the importance of a consistently good balanced diet with at least 20 minutes of cardio training and stretching with some light weight resistance training."

Reply
: Thank you for taking time to share this. The rule of water is something I hadn't heard before.
Doctor: I also recommend having and Iodine excretion and halide panel laboratory test. Iodine Iodide with a potassium catalyst is very essential to Iodothyroperoxidase. With out this crucial biochemical function the symptoms labeled as Fibromyalgia are much more acute.

I also have pain related to a recent car accident. I tried several chiropractors but none of them did the trick and I am worried about having surgery. Do you prescribe pain creams or prescription medicine that helps with pain?

Doctor:

"Sometimes when it is necessary a person can have a prescription for pain medication prescribed in my office. If you visit my office you will receive a combination of OMT and Naprapathy that reverses most cases of chronic and acute pain usually in one to ten visits depending on the causes even where other pain therapies fail to relieve pain. Pain medication may not have to be forever. All pain care specialists use a unique combination of methods but you should schedule with me at the office because I have helped relieve pain for a lot of patients and I could probably do the same for you too."

I've been going to the UCLA outpatient clinic for severe chronic pain for over a year. One of the doctors there referred me to go see Dr. Bethany Barnes. My ankle was run over by a car causing the tendons to disconnect from the bones over a year ago. I have xrays. What pain therapy would you use?

Doctor:

" Thank you for inquiring Sir. I use Naprapathy, manual therapy,830 mL Laser and a new technology that restores the tissues removining scar tissue and other dysregulation of the structure, tendons, muscles and ligaments. My treatments are structured based on the individual patients muscular skeletal dysregulation as well as biochemical pathways that may attribute to disease process."

I was at football practice yesterday and I hurt my ankle running. When I hurt my ankle I rolled the outside of my ankle onto the turf and heard two or three pops. I wanted to at least walk but it hurt way too much. I've taken pain medicine and iced it. But it still is too painful to walk including moving it a little. With the inflammation you cannot notice my ankle bone. The outside of my ankle and upward is bruised purple. My leg hurts. How do I take care of this?

Doctor:

" Visit your Primary Care Physician and ask for an MRI to make sure you did not fracture it. This will also show soft tissue damage."

Will iodine give me a long lasting weight loss result compared to crash and fad diets?

Doctor:

" Iodine is one of the most important element to affect the Thyroid and the entire endocrine system. The reproductive system is also protected by Iodine from reproductive cancers. The Thyroid gland regulates metabolism and with out Iodine / Iodide with a Potassium catalyst the thyroid gland can not function at an optimal level. "

Reply
: I have read a lot of claims about it causing weight loss. Does what you said mean that it could or will cause long term weight loss? Thank you in advance Dr. Barnes.
Doctor: Yes.
